Research topics from publications: Brachymonas wangyanguii sp. nov., isolated from the coal samples in Shanxi Province of China; Pannonibacter tanglangensis sp. nov., a New Species Isolated from Pond Sediment; Georgenia wangjunii sp. nov. and Georgenia sunbinii sp. nov. isolated from the faeces of Cygnus atratus in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China; Carbonicoccus gen. nov., Carbonicoccus zhangzhihongae sp. nov. and Carbonicoccus niuqiaonis sp. nov., novel taxa assignable to the family Propionibacteriaceae and derived from the coal mine dust samples in Shanxi Province of China. Representative work: Two Gram-negative, oxidase-positive, catalase-positive, non-spore-forming, motile, short-rod strains (G13 T and G34) were isolated from in situ coal block samples. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA genes and 718 core genes indicated that both strains belonged to the genus Brachymonas , with the closest relative being Brachymonas chironomi AIMA4 T as their closest relative. Average nucleotide identity and digital DNA–DNA hybridization values were 79.4–89.27% and 23.6–37.0% below the species-level thresholds. Further chemotaxonomic analysis revealed that both strains possessed C 16:1 ω 7 c and/or C 16:1 ω 6 c , C 18:1 ω 7 c and C 16:0 as major cellular fatty acids, with Q-8 as the predom Two bacterial strains (XCT-34T and XCT-53) isolated from sediment samples of an artificial freshwater reservoir were analyzed using a polyphasic approach. The two isolates are aerobic, Gram-stain-negative, oxidase-negative, catalase-positive, motile with polar flagella, rod-shaped, and approximately 1.4–3.4 × 0.4–0.9 μm in size. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene and whole-genome sequences showed that the two strains formed a distinct branch within the evolutionary radiation of the genus Pannonibacter, closest to Pannonibacter carbonis Q4.6T (KCTC 52466). Furthermore, lower than threshold average nucleotide identity values (ANI, 85.7–86.4%) and digital DNA–DNA hybridization values
